Sounds flat but the level of anxiety I felt in that moment is unmatched, it reminded me of how sad bad trips can be. One of my favorite things about the film is the use of color schemes. Light hues such as baby blue, lime green, and sunny yellow are mainly calming colors. But the use of them in a horror film put me out of my comfort zone more than I would have been in a typical slasher film. This might be me just over analyzing too, but I think that the pastels in the more gruesome parts of the movie are meant to confuse the main characters about what they perceive as normal and comforting vs everything else. The cult is attempting to blur the line between “right” and “wrong” and the color scheme proved that even more for me.

One of the things that really bothers me about the narrative around Midsommar is people saying Christian cheated on Dani. He was drugged! He was a shitty boyfriend, no doubt, and Dani doesnt know he was drugged, so her initial reaction makes sense, but he was drugged and therefore couldnt consent to having sex.
